Squibs is a classified term to a non-magical person that is born to at least one magical parent. Typically, signs of magic occurs by the age of seven. The person is given until the age of ten before being classified as a Squib after enough time has passed without showing any signs. Squibs are rare, even just one being born into a family, and are looked upon with a degree of disdain by some witches and wizards. The Ministry of Magic does not keep records of Squib births, a sign of magical society's general disregard for them.
